The North Alaska Inupiat Eskimo people are a Alaskan Native American people who reside in Northwest Alaska and in Canada. In Canada they are known as the Eskimo, Inuktitut. The Inupiat people are a cluster of Inupiat people organized into two dialect people: the North Alaska Inupiat Eskimo people and the Northwest Alaska Inupiat Eskimo people.

The two main peoples known as "Eskimo" are: (1) the Inuit (Canada) or Inupiat (Northern Alaska), and the (2) Yupik of Greenland, and eastern Siberia and Alaska.

Their Inupiat dialect is spoken south of Kivalina and around Kotzebue, along the Kobuk River and at the head of the Norton Sound, in Koyuk and Unalakleet. They consist of:

• Malimiutun, which is subdivided into: Kobuk and Kotzebue
• North Slope: spoken along the Arctic coast as far south as Kivalina. It is subdivided into: Common North Slope, Point Hope, and Anaktuvuk Pass

They adhere to Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, and traditional ethnic beliefs. Protestant congregations are located in Kotzebue, including Assembly of God, Church of Christ, and a non-denominational congregation. The Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) is also present in Kotzebue. A Episcopal Church is in the small town of Kivalina.
